Greetings all. I want to let OS X developers know about the development
release of a Unicode character palette for the International Phonetic
Alphabet. While loosely based on Apple's BasicInputMethod sample code,
it's a full-fledged 'cplt' component with a Cocoa front end. Naturally,
it uses a Carbon Component Manager backend, because... er... I guess
that's the only way to do it.
Developers might want to check it out, because:
1) AFAIK it is the only open-source Unicode palette available.
(ZLib license, maybe. Haven't decided yet.)
2) I do some fun stuff with ATSUI and TrueType 'cmap'
parsing to identify fonts with IPA symbols.
3) Try doing *that* with a Dashboard widget!
You can find it at:

Thanks, and Enjoy!
