Well, sure, that'd be nice. After all, thats one of the selling points of
the "framework architecture" which no-one ever seems to care about.
Especially when its one of these pissy "ok, we'll do the math for you" apis,
not "lets access a brand new slab of really-cool functionality". It seems
to me it would be relatively simple for Apple to release a compatibility
framework that added categories to pick up a lot of the slack - not new
features by any means, but the convenience functions.
But I don't see where I asked for that?
All I said was, in effect, "I'm not using setContentAspectRatio: because its
not available at 10.2", to explain to Sean why his (helpful) answer sadly
didn't solve my problem.
Why on earth do you think this translates into "Apple should back-port all
changes to Cocoa" ? I said no such thing, but anyone scanning the archives
of the mailing list could well come to the conclusion that I did. I already
make enough stupid posts without someone else adding to my oeuvre.
