Moving Controls animation

Hi,
Does anyone know whether Cocoa controls when moved from one position to
another does it in an animated fashion. As I presently see and used the do
animate flag when resizing a NSWindow.

As mostly everything within the OS now does seem to animate its controls
when the window resizes e.g. List of users in the Login window. But I'm not
finding any doc's on this presently or anything in the AppKit headers
presently.

I want to slide one control off to either right or left and then animate
another control sliding into it place. I know I could use timers and
increment moves which should do this, or do a bitmap slide, but it would be
nice if I could use something in built especially if it there.

Any thoughts anyone, anybody doing something similar.

Thanks
Mark.
