I would suggest that, rather than removing those entries from Edit,
maybe you could just hide them? Then you wouldn't see them, but they
would still function as desired (and you wouldn't need custom code).
Anyway I hope you don't plan on releasing an app like this to the
public. The Edit menu is part of the standard UI.
