I sometimes use this pattern:

NSEnumerator *enumerator = [myCollection objectEnumerator];
id thisObj = [enumerator nextObject];
while (nil != thisObj)
{
    id nextObj = [enumerator nextObject];

    if (nil != nextObj)
    {
        // Do regular thing
    }
    else
    {

    }

    thisObj = nextObj;
}
