NSTokenField, more than one line tall?

The standard NSTokenField seems to be restricted to one line of text tall, which is not always the most useful. Apple Mail's token fields, on the other hand, seem to handle multiple lines of items. Has anybody found a work-around to make NSTokenFields be more than one line tall, or perhaps run across an open-source replacement?
