I don't know about any cocoa or carbon frameworks, but you can use
AppleScript to simulate input events in other applications, and you
can use cocoa to send apple events and run apple scripts, for
example to tell system events to keystroke the c and 6 keys.

Hi,
I was wondering if it were possible for my application to send
commands to
another applications input. Like send a "c" or "6" as if the other
application had focus and the user pushed the key there? And where
would I
find the API to do this? I have read through some emails that the
Accessibility needs to be turned on in System Preferences, this is
ok. Just
need to know where to find the API to do this if the Accessibility API
allows this.
Thanks
