Just a blind guess: maybe you can just have a subclass of NSTextField that overrides the keyDown: method (maybe the moveRight: and all that stuff too) and find the modifiers using the NSEvent modifier attribute.


If this doesn't work: just class-dump the PrefPane and otool it to get an idea on how things are done in the PrefPane.
