I have got to know! Forgive my incredulity, but what bizarre thing are you doing that you would want such a tool for "debugging"? I have never in 17 years of writing NeXTstep/Openstep/Cocoa code needed such a thing to "_debug_" a view hierarchy. Generating design documentation is another thing entirely though...

Are you aware that Interface Builder will show you the view hierarchy with pretty much exactly the information you requested ? See the two icons above the right hand scroll bar in a nib document window ? Press the other one to see an outline of the window and view hierarchy.
