Could you elaborate on what "does not work" means in this case? Do
you get a crash? Do you get nonsense data? Does it return a different
value than you'd expect? Which one?
I think there's a Tech Note or Q&A on Apple's web site somewhere
that details how to detect whether you're running in Rosetta (may
even be using Gestalt() -- not sure anymore). Similarly, you can
detect the system version in various reliable ways. (the list
archives should contain a dozen or so discussions on that topic).
