Hi!

-1) automatic naming and location when a document is first opened (instead
of beginning with an "Untitled" document that will ask the user where to put
the file at closetime, it should start with an already titled document in a
fixed location, without asking the user anything).

-2) The document saves itself automatically if the user closes it or
quits the
application.

IMHO you should not do it this way. It's just not what users will expect. Especially automatic saving invoked by closing the document.

What's so wrong with a sheet, asking the user if he/she wants to save? That's standard Mac behaviour.

So, if I understand correctly, the user starts the program, a new windows appears with the results of your calculation (filename should be set already). Then, when the users quits or closes the window, the results should be saved automatically. If the user does that more than once, the file will be overwritten each time?
Or do you want to rename the file? (results-1, results-2, ..., results-n)?

Again: why not implementing the normal behaviour users are used to?

Or am I missing something?
