Intercepting PDF print output

Dear List,

As part of an application I have developed for a client, they are requesting that output saved as a PDF file be post-processed and then managed into another system. I remember reading somewhere that it was possible to insert a menu item into the PDF menu that can do something like this, but for the world of me can not find any references to this in the documentation anywhere. I need to do this in Objective-C since the post processing is quite computationally intensive and would prefer not to use Applescript. Can anyone suggest a mechanism for doing something like this or point me in the right direction for the documentation.

Thanks in advance

Vincent
