Core Recipes Sample Core Data Program

I am trying to run the Core Recipes sample app and am having trouble opening the sample data provided with the app. The instructions state that the data files ".crx" must be unzipped and placed in the ~/ Library/Application Support/CoreRecipes folder. But the data files are not in .zip format and do not appear to be compressed. The app, however, will not read these files.

Does anyone have suggestions?
