What is the correct way to remove test lists from an attributed string?

If I remove NSParagraphStyleAttributeName from the range in question, or apply the default paragraph style to the range in question, the list markers are left behind as part of the text. Given that the release note says "The visible elements of the list, including list markers, will still appear in the text as they do for lists created by hand today." this seems entirely expected.

However, when I use the popup in the text ruler to set the list style to none, the markers *are* removed from the text.

What process does the text ruler use when the user sets the list style to none?

It removes them by hand. Sorry I don't have any better solution for you; I hope to have something in the future.
