Well, I wrote a little sample code for a syntax coloring editor, but it since developed undo issues. Anyway, you can have a look at it on my web site in case you need to roll your own.

Apart from that, I know about IDEKit. Never used it, and it may be LGPL or even GPL, so it depends on what your app is whether you can use that.
