Technique to check age of a cached NSURLRequest?

  • Subject: Technique to check age of a cached NSURLRequest?

I'm trying to do some custom cache age checking in some NSURLRequests I'm making. None of the cache policies I have available are quite what I want; I want to use the cached value as long as it's newer than a certain NSDate; otherwise load a fresh copy. I don't see any public methods for determining the cache timestamp for an NSURLRequest. Am I missing something? Any suggestions for a workaround?
