How are you establishing the relationships?
Unless you are adding to, for example, the contents of an array controller whose content is itself bound to a relationship (see <http://developer.apple.com/documentation/Cocoa/Conceptual/NSPersistentDocumentTutorial/index.html > for an example), then you must establish the relationships yourself (see <http://developer.apple.com/documentation/Cocoa/Conceptual/CoreData/Articles/cdUsingMOs.html >).
