Calling [managedObjectContext processPendingChanges] does the trick,
the NSTableView now refreshes itself even if the window is in the
background.

I tried that one [myTable reloadData] as well, that still does not
refresh the table if app's window is not in the foreground.
The table does seem to have/know about the dropped item because as
soon as the window is clicked on to bring it to the foreground the
dropped item is displayed.
