It is not clear what you mean.
A model is associated with a persistent store coordinator, not a context.
Do you really want to duplicate a model (if so, why)? Or do you want to create a copy of an existing managed object?



My understanding of this procedure through reading the Core Data programming guide is that only a reference
is created, whereas I need a new instance of the Model based on the state of the current one, so to speak.


Again it's not clear what you mean.
