I answered this myself... I forgot the backend folds
ivar names to lowercase... when I fixed thes pelling,
everything works fine.

I have a custom object that I am binding to my
interface. Of course I am populating this object from
a query to a database. After I query the backend and
assign all my values (some NSStrings, some NSDates) I
use the addObserver..... to watch my ivars for
changes.
