[[self window]
setPreferredBackingLocation:NSWindowBackingLocationVideoMemory];
This might help slightly, but its a known bug AFAIK. It appeared in
the betas, and still lingers in the final build....
I would suggest filing a bug.....

I am experiencing some redrawing issues in Leopard when resizing a
window that contains a collection view. As an example, open a IB and
select the window template. Drop a Collection View item on the window
and resize the Collection View to fill the entire window. On the
Collection View Attributes pane in the inspector, check the box to use
alternating colors. Press control-r to run the simulator. If you
resize the window by clicking and dragging the lower right corner, the
background of the Collection View does not redraw as the window is
resized. It seems to take a second or two for it to catch up with the
window size. Does anyone have any ideas what may be causing this or a
soloution to resolve this?
Thanks,
Doug
