Not sure what you're trying to say. According to the C standard, given
a variable (foo) the following are identical:
if(foo == 0)
if(foo == nil)
if(foo == NULL)
if(!foo)
if(foo == '0')
and any other way you can compare to a literal zero.
I hope this is a typo but '0' != 0, so the last line is not a valid
way to test for nullity (but foo == '\0' is).
