Why not just use QTMakeTime? Instead of creating a string to do the same thing?
QTMakeTime(10, 1); // 10 seconds
...or...
QTMakeTime(100, 10); // 10 seconds
...or...
QTMakeTime(300, 30); // 10 seconds
