Your willful disregard of the very next sentence after the bit you quoted does not serve to illuminate anything. Here, again, is the whole thing:

Not willful at all - I actually *missed* that part. So he has all along asked for a way to get the mouse location "synced" with the event stream (which means synced to where you are in the event stream, which means the event location inside the event record). My original answer back to him was, therefore, not correct for what he was asking.


I know you think that the real-time location is all that matters, but
you are wrong, and I think it's important to make that plain, because
you seem to be seeking to obfuscate it.

I am not. And I say again, you're free to code how you like. Your app will have cool rollover behavior like the Safari bookmarks bar and all that, but that is certainly your choice.
