My first guess is that the burnVerify syntax has changed. Glancing at the man page for hdiutil makes no mention of it. I'd suggest you start by confirming that the arguments your using work properly on the command line, and correct until they do. If that's not working, why don't you include a full breakdown of what your passing on the command line, what drive your writing to, etc.
