No offense, but IMHO writing an agent is not a good newbie project ...
you'll probably end up messing with launchd plists and interprocess
messaging. Unless you happen to have a lot of Unix experience and are
just new to Cocoa, I'd try doing something else first, like a typical
GUI application.
