Yes, but where are they documented? Or, if they're so simple, can you quote them here?

Not to sound querulous, but what I know of these very simple rules I picked up from multiple conversations like this on, where the experts seem to say "it's so simple" three to five times for every one time they let leak one of these simple rules. And I've never managed to locate these simple rules in any dox. There's a good, multipage memory-management doc, but that's a bit more than "a *very* simple set of rules."
