Untested suggestion:

Try adding a method to MyDot that will accept the NSStringFromPoint representation, and then reference that method in your predicate, supplying a NSStringFromPoint as the object to be searched for.

- (BOOL)containsPointString:(NSString *) stringRepresentation
	{
	return [self containsPoint: NSPointFromString(stringRepresentation)];
	}

Or, you might want to add a stringRepresentation ivar to your MyDot, for speed.

- (BOOL)containsPointString:(NSString *) stringRep
	{
	return [stringRep isEqualToString: [self stringRepresentation]];
	}
