What happens if you don't try to perform migration and instead simply open the existing store with the first version model in your project? What happens if you try to open the existing store using the original version of your application (with the first version model)? It sounds like whatever "v1" model you have in your v2 project isn't the same as the original v1 model. Have you changed it in some way?
