Sorry to waste your time shooting down my suggestion -
Your tone suggests you've been offended (hurt?) by the fact that
your suggestion was questioned for clarity then ultimately proven
wrong (or at least not relevant to the problem).
You suggested a technical solution (warming up Rosetta) on a
technical mailing list. One which I thought was wrong. Because I'm not
omniscient, my ego permits me to ask you to elaborate on your
suggestion in case you knew something I didn't. After all, if someone
schools me, I'm the better for it. I gave you the benefit of doubt but
it turned out your assumption was wrong. There was no berating, no
beating you up, just a technical correction. That's all there is to it.
Again, it's a *technical mailing list*. I'm not going to withhold
the correct information for fear of hurting someone's feelings.
