NSInteger works on all versions of Mac OS X; you just have to define it yourself if you're using an SDK older than the Leopard SDK. All that NSInteger is is an int typedef (long if you built with NS_BUILD_32_LIKE_64). The same goes for NSUInteger.

Also, unless you have a really good reason to use NSCalendarDate, you should probably use NSCalendar instead.
