Those keys are bound to Exposé, Dashboard, and Spaces by default. See the Keyboard Shortcuts tab or the separate preference panes for those features.


For what it's worth, if you happen to be writing a full-screen program and you capture the displays, then those features are disabled and whatever keys are assigned to them automatically start getting delivered to your app.
