What is -launchApplication:'s "name of the application"

From NSWorkspace documentation,
   - (BOOL)launchApplication:(NSString *)appName

      Parameters > appName > The name of the application to open.

Well, applications can have several names, so I believe this is ambiguous.

My guess is that, in this context, "name" means the CFBundleIdentifier value in the application's Info.plist. Did I guess correctly?
