Custom UIBarButtonItems

  • Subject: Custom UIBarButtonItems

Hi,

I would like to create UIBarButton items with custom backgrounds. My main issue is with the back item. I have an image that is just like apple's back button images (about 20x30 pixels). So, the point is that there would be a left cap, so it could be stretched to fit any title that needs to go on it. I am wondering how to use this image for my back buttons. Do I have to create a UIButton with that image as the background, and set a left cap, and allow it to stretch to the title somehow? Or is there an easy way to change the background view of a UIBarButtonItem (BackBarButtonItem).

Thanks!

Joe
