RADPlugin framework

Hi,I have seen some Apple's applications having this RADPlugin, iMovie, FinalCut pro:
/Applications/Final Cut Pro.app/Contents/PlugIns/AVCHD.RADPlug
and sometimes, those files can be interchanged between iMovie and FinalCut Pro, is there documentation on this?  Thanks,
