You might try 'Cocoa Programming for Mac OS X', Third Edition, by Hillegass. You might also take a look at 'Cocoa Design Patterns' by Buck and Yacktman.


I am not familiar with Ruby, but if you are having problems in cocoa seeing the forest for the trees, perhaps you need to do some more homework.
