There is no magic in Objective-C.

There is nothing that you do using Objective-C that cannot be done in C. Technically, it is ALL syntactic sugar but, imo, it is some of the best stuff on the planet. :)

Yes, I think that it is useful to partition the syntax and think of properties as a mechanism to expose state and methods as mechanisms to operate on that state.
