Hi,
Can anyone offer advice on profiling a Epson 7500, using Epson photo glossy
paper and pigment inks through the Quickdraw driver.
I printed out a test RGB greyscale image with primary colours with the 'No
Colour correction' the output was way off, too saturated, the greyscale was
green/magenta and blocked up.
I then tried the 'Color correction' Photo realistic option with the settings
all on zero, the output was not too bad, good primaries and tone in the
greys but too green.
Added 5 magenta to the above settings and the output was neutral under
daylight.
So I profiled the printer under these conditions, printed the PDI target and
was pleased with the results, greys looked neutral in daylight, overall
color was good with a good match to the monitor.
Next we outputted some profiled Flextight scans, the scans looked perfect in
Photoshop after the profile conversion, nice blue skies, but when output
the skies went magenta and the overall print was too heavy. So we tried
another image, same problem too pinky/magenta.
I have not yet tried profiling with the +5 magenta taken out, as the
greyscale appeared way too green in daylight, or is this a case of
metamerism.
Regards
Darren Sheppard
