When working with film - I will use only
a couple types of film I am very familiar with.
Generally, I find, I can always get by with daylight types.
Then, moving through various environments, I will use the
Gossen Color Meter to measure the spectrum of light at the
scene and build the appropriate filter pack
for each situation.
Would this same technique seem viable when
using digital capture?
Maybe each CCD (?) would be profiled for daylight
(or possibly another wavelength it seems most stable at)
and then filter packs used to "adapt" the various lighting
conditions to that particular profile.
It seems the "Digital Capture Device" is the thing
that needs to be profiled - rather than the world at large.
