I'm on the same quest. So it's just not me having trouble with Trident 3!
Great!
I have a Howtek D4000 that runs well on Polaris but I would like something
more powerful. I've been using Trident 3 also but I can not get my head
wrapped around it at all. Even with the PDF manual it's a struggle. I don't
know if Trident 4 is an improvement. I've heard some people love Trident 4
and some people say it's broke and no fix is in sight. Have you tried
Trident 4?
I've been using the SilverFast demo and it works very, very well - but since
it's a Photoshop plug-in it ties up the computer. If I go the SilverFast
route I do have an old G3 that I could dedicate to the Howtek.
Regarding the EXCESSIVE noise - Have you tried scanning a chrome to see if
the noise is less. What format is the color neg?
Best Regards,
John V.
