I am looking at updating our (very old) Praxisoft profiling software. Best
choices on the market a while back seemed to be a run-in between Monaco and
ProfileMaker... is this still the case? And will both do the range of
printers we use?
We have a PG4000 controlled through a Graphx RIP, an HP5500 through the
PosterJet 6.5 RIP, a new Epson 4000 with the eight colour cartidges (no RIP
as yet, still experimenting and am not sure which one to go for) and a
Konica Minolta copier/printer with its own RIP. I also use an Epson 1290
with Lyson small-gamut B/W inks for monochrome photographic work.
Basically I want the highest-quality profiles for all these without going
to the extent of specialized profile tweaking, so the best out-of-the-box
results would be ideal.
I have been told that the Monaco Platinum is the *only* system which will
handle the Epson 4000 as it has eight cartridges - is this true? I find it
hard to believe.
I would imagine that these two packages are both very high quality, but
opinions and experiences would be welcomed.
Regards to all
Simon
