Here is one of the best sources of information on these printers.

I use a iPF9000 myself. I wouldn't go back to Epsons and there are a breeze to make custom profiles. And, no problem connected to Macs.

Any one had any experience with this latest 17" printer from Canon? Are the canned profiles decent? Is it easy to make custom profiles? Does it play well in a Mac network environment when shared from a Mac host? Given it's size, weight, claimed color gamut and printing speeds it seems to be an attractive alternative to Epson's 4880 printer.

Yesterday I spoke with a vendor who made some vaguely disparaging comments regarding this printer. Specifically he indicated it was very difficult to profile and that it was NOT intended for "high volume" output. Both of these comments were definitely at odds with others I've heard. Comments?

Thanks,
