So much of that has to do with the ambient light in the environment. Any
stray light will strike the display surface and depending on its makeup,
will affect what appears to be an Absolute black. So, the two in pitch black
room (would you want to work like that?).
Black accuracy (the ability to see the difference on screen between a value
of 0/0/0 and 1/1/1) is still superior on the Artisan. I can see the
differences.
I'm driving the NEC at what NEC says is the minimum (150cd/m2). The Artisan
is way lower of course. So again, apples and oranges here.
