Jon, I built a TIFF with the CMYK numbers you spec'd and ran it through my Alwan setup. I got the same values out that I put in - 27%Y, 11%K.

To get something like you described, I had to set 3 things:

1 Turn off CK-MK-YK purity
2 Bump up my black start point
3 Set the Action to "Optimize Always"

I think if you just change the Action to "Check and Optimize" you'll get what you want.

I'm using Dynamic Maximum Black. I didn't check under any of the other Separation options.
