Hello. Is anyone familiar with the Dell UltraSharp 2408WFP (Editors'
choice
CNET) or the LaCie 324 LCD (Monitor + Hood + Calibration Software)?

Hi Ken,
We were asked to see if we could replace apple Screens with large Dell
screens ,they use the same panel or did when we tested them. I tested
one and found that it was very uneven across the screen particularly on
the larger screens 20 " and larger. The other major problem was that we
could not get the brightness level below about 165 cd which is a bit
high for working on all day. My suggestion would be that you look at the
Eizo Flexscan monitors as an alternative to the Dell or Apple or even
better go for something along the lines of the Flexscan Premium or
Coloredge. You might like to also look at some of the new NEC
spectraview screens. If you are using these screens for imaging and
sitting in front of them all day you have to buy the best you can
possibly afford. Your eyes deserve it !

Garry
