Yep! And have you noticed that the Control key option that saves the grab to this clipboard messes up the drop shadow transparency? Apple needs to clean this up.

Good idea. That or do away with the shadow altogether. And give us the option to save the grab as an sRGB converted file! That would really streamline the process for us all.
