It appears that Aperture does not do any conversion, so this does work as the target matchs an unmanaged target from PS. Also sizing is a bit tricky when printing from Aperture. You want to use Custom Size set to the exact size of the target and the Border Option to 0.

But I am assuming based on the original problem that the friend does not have PS, so he needs to use the Embed Colorsync script which does work or do you have another recommendation to assign a printer profile to the target. That is any RGB printer profile that you can select in Apertures print dialog.
