The "Simulate paper color" option is possibly the cherry on the icing ;-)
Also, depending on the PMS "simulation" setting (Ink manager > Use Standard
Lab Values for Spots), whether as Lab or off the "official" PANTONE build,
ought to make a visual difference, albeit on a wide gamut monitor only,
depending on the saturation of the PMS number, of course.
Turning overprint previewing has the advantage of forcing all placed content
to display at the best resolution InDesign can support, about 150dpi
(Overprint previewing has no effect on placed content in Illustrator).
