AudioConverter footprint

Does anyone have any information on the memory footprint of an
AudioConverter?
I would like to make many converters (instead of creating and deleting
them all the time), but it's unclear whether they are references to a
pool of converters that have been already created, or if they are
simply references to bits of code in the system frameworks, or
whatever...
My question is - if I were to make 100 converters - all of the same
(or slightly different) conversion types, would I have a large and
unruly memory footprint, or would it just be a collection of small
memory structs that would reference bigger chunks of code collectively?
TIA
