Running AIX executables on Intel based Macs

Here's a question for Apple luminaries.

Some years ago, I worked in an IT shop which used AIX. It had the ability to convert programs created and run on it into executables which could be run on Intel systems. As the only staunchly Mac person in the shop (1 of a team of 4, who together supported a system running a small college -- including associated PC's and Macs) the Senior Programmer always took a smug delight in highlighting this critical point, which always left me let's say "less than happy". Leaving aside my little drama scene, the question for you is:

Can Intel based Macs now run AIX created executables within OS X?

I look forward to learning the answer.

I thank you ahead of time for considering this question.
